Weekly Cats #1: July 19-23 2021

It’s been a long time since I updated my blog. I’m pretty embarrassed about it as I’ve always wanted to get back to writing regularly, but things keep getting in the way. After my wonderful host Leprd kindly reminded me that I hadn’t accessed my web account in a long time, I decided to give this a shot again. I’m promising myself that I’ll write weekly, no matter how short it is. I also changed my hosting to my host’s subdomain so my URL is now angie.meowandsparkle.party. I don’t usually use subdomain hosting, but this is way too cute to pass up on!

Another project I’ve been meaning to tackle is my hundreds of gigabytes of videos and pictures taken of my cats and community cats. After a few failed attempts at trying to organise them in one shot, I’ve decided to take it slow and steady. I’ll pick a folder from my collection as I please, and identify 5 videos/pictures that I love for sharing each. I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I had fun creating and editing them!

Fuzzy snuggling up to me when I come home. She really is such a love bug! No matter how tiring or frustrating the day is, I feel energised just to hold her. Unfortunately, she has a habit of biting buttons and the lace on my clothes so I have to be careful when I carry her.

Sylvia the Tuxedo cat lay on the floor, after a meal, blinking her eyes slowly. We thought she wanted to sleep, in the middle of nowhere. Then it occurred to us that maybe she wanted some stroking and pats!

I often play with Fuzzy using string toys to help her stay active and shed some weight. She loves catching the dangly strings but doesn’t like putting more effort than rolling around on her back and flailing her limbs in the air. I probably get more exercise for my arms than she does. Sorry, the lighting is kind of bad in this one but her constantly showing off her belly is too cute to pass up!

“Hey you! Yes you, I’m adopting you,” says Crooktail.

Do turn up the volume to hear her adorable mewing.
And that’s how we ended up taking her into our humble abode and being enslaved to her. 😏 We looked after Crooktail when she was a community cat for about 3 years before officially bringing her home. Every time we walked past the area, she would run out to meet us, even if it wasn’t mealtime.

Fuzzy: Play with me!
Fred: Nah, I just ate and want to chill.
Fuzzy: Play with me!!
Fred: Geroff me! Hisssss

Throwback to when Fuzzy was still a community cat and lived outdoors. Fuzzy and Fred were from the same litter and they get along. Fuzzy is especially playful and loves to approach the other cats to play. Fred would sometimes indulge but this was one of those times when he just wanted some me time.

That’s it for this week. Till next time!

The video of me carrying Fuzzy is taken by my mum. All other videos are taken and edited by me.
